The Ely Standard would like to hear from anyone with stories to tell about the war years.
In September 1939, the Government evacuated more than 800,000 children from Britain's cities, which were the target of bombing raids by the German Luftwaffe. Many were sent to East Anglia and Ely, nestled safely in The Fens, was where many would spend as long as four years away from their families.
