WITHIN minutes of arriving home from holiday, I made the silly mistake of cutting my hand on a milk bottle. I am used to receiving good treatment at The Staploe Medical Centre, but on this occasion, after an initial dressing, they had to refer me for my first visit to the Minor Injuries Unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital. It may well be, as a fellow patient (ex RAF and then a civilian worker at the hospital) that it is a pity that we don't still have the full facilities of the RAF hospital available. However, we do need to appreciate what we do have, and make sure we do all we can in these financially straitened times, to keep it. The friendliness, care and skill that I received were second to none. I publicly thank all the staff at Soham and Ely, and especially the nurse practitioners, for their help.
