AS Tesco are running on such minimal profit margins that it takes six months for them to find a vehicle to remove abandoned trolleys (story, February 22, page 11) could I appeal to readers to make contributions to a fund to support this threatened small local business?
Perhaps, Madam Editor, you could perform the public service of putting a collection box in your office - possibly marked The Shirley Porter Fund For Distressed Supermarkets - where readers might leave their contributions.
