LIKE most conservative politicians and green environmentalists, I continue to support and use public transport. In these days of split loyalties it was very interesting to read the reports in the Ely Standard (November 19) concerning Ely Railway Station.

In these days of split loyalties it was very interesting to read the reports in the Ely Standard (November 19) concerning Ely Railway Station. A station master who has worked over five decades with loyal service is retiring from his position - this is truly inspirational and admirable.
Congratulations and well done to all at Ely Railway Station whose services I have often used in the past - including travelling by train myself to places including London, Blackpool, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds.
