REGARDING A De Lacy's letter (Ely Standard, April 8) about Mildenhall aeroplanes.
They have always flown over Ely. We locals expect it to be busier in the skies on Tuesdays and Thursdays and find it to be generally a comfort noise because as we hear the planes we know we are safe. Also the Americans are working hard for us, doing various exercises. Wherever they fly, people will never be entirely happy. We do get English planes in the skies and the Americans promote local employment.
Long may the noise continue.
