AMAZING! I read in your paper that the public loo near the cathedral is set to close for the sake of £5,000, having read in the other local paper that sufferers of a debilitating illness which leaves people needing the toilet without warning are supporting a Can't Wait Campaign.
Then I see the picture of a forthcoming sculpture of a screen to be placed in the Jubilee Gardens at a staggering cost of £40,000.
Something is very wrong somewhere. Being of an age when a bladder is not at its best, I know which I'd prefer. Let's hope the cathedral will pay for the loo.
As for the sluice, I think even the ducks will hiss and snap at it. It will look absolutely hideous there and belongs in a bin if one big enough can be found.
