I WROTE to my district councillor to ask why the temporary trenches dug by the new owner of the Roswell pit had been filled in. She wrote back to say that they had been filled in for reasons of health and safety.
I am now wondering when health and safety officers will visit the pits and ask for them to be drained in case we all fall in.
