DOESN'T news travel fast by word of mouth? It's just that sometimes the oral news isn't as accurate as it might be. Of course, the best way to check things is to ask, but this is obviously too complicated for some of our rumour millers. Having heard so many tales of late I decided to find out a few facts from the horses' mouths.
The Soham Lodge Motel is not closing down. The Ship is changing hands sometime this year. The Omar is becoming a pizza restaurant. Saucy Meg's is re-opening soon and the Red Lion is not being sold.
One thing I can't tell you is when the Soham United pitch will be dry enough for home games to be played on it again. It's been unplayable for four or five months now and the prolific Colts teams have to travel to Isleham to train. Anyone got a dry, flat field?
