There is a very pleasant area on Qua Fen Common with picnic benches and a duck pond. The grass has been cut and it all looks very tranquil, but things are not as peaceful as they appear. Everyone likes to see ducks, especially this time of year when they invade the town and can often be seen on the roofs of houses. The problem with ducks is that they are a bit like rats and pigeons, the more food there is the more ducks there are and the duck population on Qua Fen is getting out of hand. In an effort to stem the quacking carpet of feathered bread-eaters, Richard, the Common Reeve, with the agreement of the powers that be, erected some signs asking people not to feed the ducks. The first crop disappeared so he prepared a second set. These too have vanished so it looks as though the population will continue to grow and grow until somebody with a shed full of "Don't Feed The Ducks" signs is overrun by hungry ducklings. Happy Easter!
