THE answer to the question of what to do with the rubbish between the imminent fortnightly collections (and when we run out of potato sacks) is so blindingly obvious that it's amazing nobody has come up with it before. Not only will it get rid of the rubbish and smells; it will cement the community together with regular meetings and chances to socialise. Once a fortnight we can all get together and have a communal bonfire. It will need to be somewhere fairly central, which isn't too easy in a long, thin place like Soham, but there is one place that is obvious when you think of it - the land behind the Church Hall! Perhaps Cleanaway or East Cambs District Council would like to buy it for the town. Or, perhaps not.
