SURELY now with the imminent arrival of bird flu to these shores it is about time to put an end to this quite ridiculous muscovoy duck problem in Ely. Yet again, this past week these things waddle their way up Forehill bringing traffic to a standstill, invade my mother's garden, fouling footpaths and continue to make the green at Castelhythe look like some run down small- holding in eastern Europe.

These are not lovely ducks. The lovely mallard ducks I used to feed as a child down by the river used to stay there.

I would suggest that before the imminent arrival of bird flu to these shores every one of these ducks is removed, because one thing is for certain, with these things in such close daily proximity to humans in the heart of our lovely city, they will be culled without mercy.
