AS a resident of Fore Hill, I must register my disgust at the state of the pavement.
It resembles a back street in a third world country. Cigarette ends adhere to the congealed blood, vomit, chewing gum and grease stains which are a testament to a 'good night out'. I recently contacted the company responsible for keeping the streets and walkways clean to ask that a particular bad patch of grease outside a fast food outlet be treated, but to no avail. I rang the Environmental Health Department who promised to address the problem. Still no action. As is so often the case these days, it does not appear to be any department's responsibility. How can this situation be allowed to continue? Have we no pride in our city? Where does our Council Tax and our business rates go? Come on council, please try to stop this decline in standards.
