ELIZABETH Hunter wrote very eloquently about solutions to Ely's parking problems in her letter - the most pertinent of these being a park-and-ride facility on the edge of town.
She may not be aware, that this was within our grasp only months ago when Conservative-backed plans to move the council offices from The Grange were about to be finalised.
A 300-space park-and-ride was only one of an impressive list of advantages the office move represented, including a £3 million Government grant, 1,000 jobs on a new business park, and other very significant monetary advantages, including valuable space in the city centre for retail development.
