THE second Soham scouts need some money for a project later in the year. Being scouts they are not whinging and wining and looking for grants, they are doing something about it themselves. They recently spent the morning at Waitrose in Ely packing bags for the shoppers at the checkouts. Of course they did it voluntarily, but any donations were gratefully received. On the day, they gratefully received £385 from people who, like the rest of us, can't open plastic carrier bags and were happy to have someone do it for them. Well done the scouts and let's hope they enjoy the project they've worked so hard to fund.
