I WOULD not like to see an extension to the Tesco store in Ely (Ely Standard, October 30). All Tesco seems to want to do is to knock out all shops which are a threat to them. I do not shop at Tesco. I look forward to the day when Aldi opens in Ely so Tesc

I WOULD not like to see an extension to the Tesco store in Ely (Ely Standard, October 30). All Tesco seems to want to do is to knock out all shops which are a threat to them. I do not shop at Tesco. I look forward to the day when Aldi opens in Ely so Tesco has a bit of competition. It makes one wonder what goes on in Ely's Planning Department.

Tesco stops people going into Ely centre because it takes over and sells everything it can get its hands on, even an optician and eye tests.
