I WAS apprehensive when I picked up a new book called Eccentric Cambridge and found in the index there was a long section on Soham. I needn't have worried - it tells the story of the Soham heroes of 1944, and does it so well that I was deeply moved.
How wonderful to be in tears about this place for the right reasons. Or as the author puts it 'the very best of mankind, not the worst of human nature.'
