The day before, Tuesday 5th, we will be honoured by the presence of the full East Cambs District Council when they meet at 6.30pm in Beechurst Hall. It is open to the electors and we can actually ask a question! The poster doesn't say if everybody can ask a question, or if it is one question between the lot of us. It doesn't say if we'll get an answer, either. Still, it's nice to know they have discovered Soham, at last, let's hope they don't keep calling it a village.
If they are good enough to come and see us, the least we can do is make them feel welcome. With their love of parking charges and buses perhaps we should make them park up at Barway and pay for a bus into town. Oh no, silly me, it's the taxpayers who will have to pay.
If you want a foretaste of the council meeting, go along to the pantomime in Lodeside on Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.
