WITH regards to your feature article on the Great Flood of 1947, from the timetable of events given, I believe the first picture was taken on the night of March 16 at Prickwillow.
The man in the foreground, to the right of the lamp on the ground, was my father, Ellis Ambrose Hobbs, a farm worker. We lived at 17 Qua Fen Common, Soham at the time, and when the call came for help he responded to that call.
