THERE is another meeting of the Soham Town Forum tonight at the pavilion.
At the last one, a lady from Cambridgeshire Acre explained her role as a community development worker, working in parish planning. Local people are surveyed and action plans are drawn up.
I might be wrong, but didn't we do exactly the same thing a few years ago when it was called a healthcheck? We never seem to be short of action plans and discussion documents, we just seem to be short of church halls.
There's another scheme about to burst on us called Quality of Place, which isn't concerned with classy breaded fish, but will provide more noticeboards, information booklets and, apparently, a cinema screen. It does make you think that it would be nice if all these different schemes could be pulled together into one co-ordinated effort.
