The proposed charge - £21.50 per wheelie bin, £43.00 per household - is not a large one, but I am conscious that my own bins here in Soham were supplied free of charge (to me) last year.
I am also conscious that the charge is, in effect, yet another ‘tax’ to be imposed on new buyers of new properties (the biggest imposition on buyers is Stamp Duty Land Tax, the effects of which are severe for many).
However, on balance, I support the proposal in order to safeguard the services which present residents receive and which future residents will desire.
