Why, oh why, are numerous youths in sporty cars allowed to behave anti-socially on the streets of Ely night after night?
Quite apart from the mindlessness of their activities, they frequently drive too fast and extremely noisily. Broad Street and Fore Hill are taken at excessive speeds and Tesco appears not to care that their car park is used as the pits by these people.
I probably owe my life to my young grandson, whose quick thinking one evening saved me from stepping off the pavement into the path of one of these tearaways who appeared as if from nowhere.
The issuing of ASBOs may or may not be appropriate, but a return to quiet streets, however achieved, would surely be welcomed by the majority of Ely's residents.
