I WAS pleased to view the new application for the Light Installation, a landmark public art scheme, which will soon be discussed by the district council's planning committee.
The original application had unfortunately chosen a site at the riverside end of Jubilee Gardens which the councillors, and many other local residents, did not think much of. The new application will hope to install the Sluice Sculpture near to The Maltings, which is a far better site for its appreciation.
I hope the planning committee will give their approval for this new application.
