TONIGHT there is a bit of innovation at The Pavilion. A professional theatre group will be presenting You Don't Need to Know That at 7.45pm. Tickets are £6 or £5 and are available from Soham Books. It's presented by an outfit called Gonzo Moose and promises to be "an exhilarating collision of comedy, drama, slapstick and puppetry," but it should be a good night in spite of all that.

There are two two-day events over the weekend. The first commemorates the abolition of the slave trade 200 years ago and is an activity weekend focussing on Soham in 1807. Families will be particularly welcomed and information is on 01353 724115.

The other two-day event celebrates the floods of 60 years ago and is based in Prickwillow. On Saturday, Mike Petty will be giving a talk in the village hall from 7.30pm and on Sunday, the engines will be running and there will be a special exhibition in the museum.

And all week it's British Banger Week. If there's nothing there that appeals you could always go for a jog.
