I THINK Mr Woollard must have mis-read the press release from The National Trust regarding their consultation on Wicken Fen. It clearly states that the figures are based on those who responded, not the total number of survey forms distributed. For example, the meaning of 'eight out of 10 responses support our ideas' is very clear to me. Thankfully we all have a choice whether we respond to questionnaires such as this; just because most people didn't respond isn't the fault of The National Trust. I would imagine that any survey that relies on respondents returning forms will only get replies from people with strong views, one way or the other.
Most people didn't vote for Labour in 2005, so according to Mr Woollard's calculations, they shouldn't be in power! Mr Woollard should just accept that most people who responded support the idea for a Wicken Fen Vision.
