JAKE the spaniel, who lives in Tanners Lane, is a bit confused at the moment. Not being a driver himself, he doesn't really understand why they need two 'Give Way' signs at the bottom of the road. Does this mean that you shouldn't come out onto Fordham Road unless you have let two vehicles pass? Or is it just that they've left the old one there because the new one is partially behind a bush? Either way he thinks it's a really good way to spend taxpayers' money.

A little further up the road is an ongoing game of 'pass the parcel'. Some weeks ago, something was put out in a black bag and left for the weekly collection. For some reason it wasn't acceptable and was left on the path. (There are dire warnings that if we put stuff out too early we are committing an offence, what about if something is moved and left by somebody else?) Each week the bag is put against another fence or wall, but never taken away. Jake is waiting for the music to stop to see what the first prize is.
