THE protests were over, the support had been identified and it was time to get on with it. In this case 'getting on with it' meant a public meeting to set up a charitable trust to buy the Church Hall.
The meeting is scheduled for tonight, except that it's not. The meeting that should have happened in The Pavilion has been vetoed by the town council as unsuitable.
If that doesn't prove that the town needs an independent public hall, nothing will.
