IT would appear from my fruitless search that ECDC have now decided to withdraw the Tetra Pak recycling banks that were previously available within the district. On top of the recent and very short-sighted decision to cease door-to-door collections of plastic bottles, does this not underline the fact that our council is not really interested in promoting recycling nor in reducing the vast amount of waste going to landfill? East Cambridgeshire already lags behind neighbouring authorities and surely its claim to be a Beacon Council for waste and recycling is now in tatters?
