FOLLOWING the revelation a few weeks ago that nobody was actually responsible for the fiasco of the street lights in the trees in Lower Carter Street in Fordham, it seems that the same bureaucrat has shown his talent again, this time in Soham. There is a wide and sweeping splay where the road from the new town off The Shade actually meets the main road. Plenty of room to see the approaching traffic. Unfortunately 'Bill the Bureaucrat' has seen fit to position a streetlight in the road. We are used to seeing them in the middle of the path in Clay Street, but sticking one in the road is a new idea. I bet it's nobody's fault, though, just yours and mine when we have to pay for it to be put right.
