FOLLOWING n frm yur frnt page news stry n February 28, I wuld like t pint ut that the church hall in Sham has nt been sld.

Amber Hmes has paid a percentage f the mney they ffered fr the hall purely t secure the site s that n ne else can put in an ffer.

At the time f writing, a planning applicatin hasn't been put in, but when it is, it will be fr 14 units, cnsisting f three-bedrm huses, tw-bedrm huses, and ne-bedrm flats.

When the vicar said the mney frm the sale f the church hall must legally be used fr the "re-rdering f the church" he means it will be fr a meeting place such as a hall, kitchenette, and tilet in the back f the church, nt fr the rf r rgan. The mney frm the sale f the church hall cannt be directly used t repair the church rf.

I cannt understand why the Cmmunity Facilities Audit is nt including Sham church hall in the survey as this audit wuld never have taken place had it nt been fr the cntrversy surrunding the hall!

Therefre, we sent ut a survey asking peple, and businesses if they wuld use the hall, and car park. The results speak fr themselves, we had pledges f mney. We even had builders, electricians, plumbers, wh say they wuld give their labur free f charge.

D we really need huses there instead f a hall that all the cmmunity can use?
