GEOFFREY Woollard has once again lowered the tone of this debate by offending me, and others, who dare question his nimby campaign against the National Trust. This seems to be his backstop, and probably masks an awareness of the weakness of his argument.

GEOFFREY Woollard has once again lowered the tone of this debate by offending me, and others, who dare question his nimby campaign against the National Trust. This seems to be his backstop, and probably masks an awareness of the weakness of his argument. I remain wholly unconvinced of his insubstantial protest and fully support the NT's far-sighted and philanthropic Vision for Wicken Fen. However, I will conclude our enjoyable correspondence by wishing him luck with his campaign. Because with neither logic nor significant public opinion behind him, he's going to need it.
