AS a Royal Mail ex-postman I am in full support of the postal strike. It is not an easy decision to make as it is often reflected badly in the media. But since 2007, Royal Mail has constantly ignored agreements and their attitude seems to be that if you don't like the way things are then get another job. All workers want the company to modernise as it is in the interests of job security, but Royal Mail has is cutting jobs and creating unachievable workload. The Royal Mail is also putting the paying public last in terms of a quality service. In the last few months people will have noticed their mail being delivered as late as 4pm, not by postman, but by managers. There is also unacceptable pressure to complete the round and testing to make sure postal workers are working fast enough.

Support your post men and women because they are supporting the public by trying to do a good job.
