It’s that time of year again – Aquafest is upon us.
This is an important notice for visitors who return repeatedly and have been used to the raft races commencing at 2.30pm (last couple of years) or 3pm previously since it began in 1977.
This year, the raft races start at 12.45pm, only 15 minutes after the mayor’s opening address on Jubilee Gardens, although visitors really need to be in position by 12.30pm to get the best viewpoints.
The opening times are the same as usual though – noon on Lavender Green, 12.30pm on Jubilee Gardens.
It is hoped that visitors will contribute generously once again for the benefit of local charities. More information can be found on the website elyrotary.co.uk
