Councillors with anti-car agenda

I also attended the meeting and was allowed to comment on the amended recommendation.
Unfortunately, Mrs Griffith-Singh's joy has turned out to be premature. The amended recommendation instructing council officers to proceed with the details and costing of providing a car park at Angel Drove has been 'called in'.
This means that the decision has been challenged by some councillors who have referred it to the Overview and Scrutiny committee. These committees have little power, but can request the original committee to reconsider their recommendation. It could mean the introduction is delayed, which could end up sabotaging the whole project.

I am afraid my conclusion is that some councillors are hell-bent on pursuing an anti-car agenda in favour of a utopian bus scheme.
