WELL what can we say Ely has gone continental? The people came in their hundreds to either look or buy the goods which all looked very appetising. Stalls the full length of the High Street and not a car on the pavements. There seemed to be people walking everywhere. Big thanks should go to the organisers for giving Ely a big lift. I have read that next year we could also have Bank Holiday markets as well. Ely has come a long way since the old 1950s and when we get the southern bypass to Stuntney the city will improve even more. We need more people to come to Ely to shop, with no hold ups, but at the moment some councillors are still thinking in the horse and cart era.
