WELL at last someone has seen sense. All the hogwash that's come from LCPRE about the so called Ely Common. It has never been a common, only by some people who have called it that. If it was a common it would have been owned by the people of ELY or registered under Monarchs of England, but this is privately owned and they have the right to sell it to whom they wish or leave it as it is for farmers to cut it for hay for cattle.
It would be nice to see some up-market houses there that would enhance the area right down to the sailing club. No-one had any objections to building a house on the Water Authority complex on what you call the common. It was open fields at one time; well at least common sense has come to fore this time.
