I WRITE in response to your article published last week entitled 'Parking Fees Set To Rise'.
The reason people are parking in various locations near Ely Railway Station is because of the cost of parking in Angel Drove. Since the closure of the bridge lay-by, more and more are competing for side street parking and this has caused a few heated exchanges with residents when a commuter is running late and trying to park. Increasing costs will not help. Would it not be possible to lay single yellow lines with no parking over three hours or no parking between 11am and 1pm where there is a problem? Cheaper parking is needed.
