I HAVE been reading with interest the commentary surrounding last year s Masterplan. I picked up on Littleport resident Michael Edward s distinct unhappiness on the way the Ely Masterplan was managed and presented last year and I wonder what he felt was good about it?I feel as a resident of Ely that we are all entitled to view our opinions, but if we choose to air our opinions in a public forum on a topic which will impact the lives of all residents in the Ely area it would be far more constructive to present a balanced opinion based upon fact in order to allow those who will be directly affected by any strategic changes to, in time, to make an informed choice. It is quite clear that as a community during these difficult economic times, we need to pull hard and pull together , in order to make sure that our best interests are preserved, considered and hopefully built upon in the future and to do this we need to channel our inevitable frustrations, disagreements, worries, concerns and, similarly, agreements and ideas in the right format through the correct and appropriate means available. I m sure many residents of Ely and the surrounding areas have constructive and useful ideas surrounding our future; it would be useful for those that do plan, on our behalf, to hear them, I m sure. I HAVE been reading with interest the commentary surrounding last year's Masterplan. I picked up on Littleport resident Michael Edward's distinct unhappiness on the way the Ely Masterplan was managed and presented last year and I wonder what he felt was good about it?

I feel as a resident of Ely that we are all entitled to view our opinions, but if we choose to air our opinions in a public forum on a topic which will impact the lives of all residents in the Ely area it would be far more constructive to present a balanced opinion based upon fact in order to allow those who will be directly affected by any strategic changes to, in time, to make an informed choice.

It is quite clear that as a community during these difficult economic times, we need to 'pull hard and pull together', in order to make sure that our best interests are preserved, considered and hopefully built upon in the future and to do this we need to channel our inevitable frustrations, disagreements, worries, concerns and, similarly, agreements and ideas in the right format through the correct and appropriate means available. I'm sure many residents of Ely and the surrounding areas have constructive and useful ideas surrounding our future; it would be useful for those that do plan, on our behalf, to hear them, I'm sure.
