I READ the article All Aboard For Free Bus Fares by Lesley Innes, which appeared in the Ely Standard last week. I would like to applaud the district council, the county council and bus operators who have worked hard together to introduce the new scheme.
I READ the article "All Aboard For Free Bus Fares" by Lesley Innes, which appeared in the Ely Standard last week. I would like to applaud the district council, the county council and bus operators who have worked hard together to introduce the new scheme. Improving public transport is vital for Cambridgeshire and future prosperity. I am pleased that it has worked out for the area, for the elderly and disabled. I do not agree with the overall service provided by the bus service as regards disabled passengers, also people with arthritis who can't negotiate the steps or a running board on a double decker bus. The bus passes are useless if the vehicle is not provided with a hoist or ramp, wasting time and money.
