IN reply to Frank Richards letter: many old Laws are forgotten, but it does not mean they don't exist. Why would it have been best if the council had delayed in making its decision? It can take years before the House of Lords sits on its own past decisions and there is no guarantee that the Law Lords will depart from past principles, decisions, or judgments laid down in a previously authoritative precedent. Until that happens Cambridgeshire County Council was correct in rejecting LCPRE application for Village Green status.
