I HAVE recently moved to Ely and was attracted by the unspoilt views of the river, the cleanliness and quieter pace of life.
I am shocked to hear that almost £130,000 has been spent on an unnecessary eyesore that will detract from the natural beauty of the river.
It will have lights, piped artificial sounds of running water (when it's only a few feet from the actual river!). There should be further consultation with local residents about the location, maintenance and ongoing associated costs of this sculpture
