REGARDING the article in last week's Standard on unsafe headstones.
How must relatives feel to see the desecration of the names and memories of their loved-ones with bright yellow tape - and all in the name of health and safety.
I can't help wondering how many children go in the cemetery and risk being injured by falling masonry.
The health and safety brigade would be better employed going round the outside perimeter of the cemetery and using their time, energy and money cutting back the overgrown footpath as that is a real danger to the public.
When that is done they could always tackle the footpath, which connects St Andrew's Way and Dalton Way which is used every day by a great many people, including a large proportion of children and is a jungle with all its overgrown brambles and other vegetation.
