THERE have been some surprising facts in the press over recent weeks.

Apparently, a couple of boffins up in Fife have come up with a process that can create a material capable of making cars, ships and even fishing rods out of carrots. Apparently, it is light, strong and can be moulded into virtually any shape.

With the number of carrots passing through Isleham every week, there must be scope for a whole new manufacturing industry out in the fens. It will be great to see new orange-coloured boats and cars being transported down East Fen Drove - all with the added bonus of being able to see in the dark.
