FOR many years now the young ladies of Soham have been strutting their stuff with batons and pom-poms.

The current generation of the Soham Fenlander Majorettes are just as competent and rhythmic as their predecessors. One of the main differences is that, along with any other hobby, the overheads have rocketed. The troupe has recently spent £3,000 on uniforms and equipment, but, unlike some other organisations, they do not plead for cash from one and all. They fund-raise with a vengeance with cake stalls and sponsored dances. They also perform at local events. A performance doesn't cost the organisers as such, but any donations are welcomed.

This year the Majorettes are a little short of bookings and would be pleased to hear from any organiser who would like some colour, music and synchronised movement at their event. Call Kim on 01353 722557 or Lynne on 01353 723450 to find out more.
