IN June, 1944 a wagon full of high explosives blew up and obliterated Soham Railway Station and destroyed 120 yards of track.

The line was reopened to traffic in a little over 18 hours.

In June 2007, a few wagons become derailed at Stuntney and it is reported that the track will be impassable for at least 18 weeks.

Obviously, a different set of priorities existed then to those of today.
