REGARDING the waste collection plan - to spend another £20,000 on a re-think? How much did the first think cost? Thousands of pounds and about 10 minutes. All households will have to make facilities to cope with the extra bags of rubbish generated by fortnightly collections.

This would not be easy for the elderly people, the disabled and the rapidly growing number of flat-dwellers. May I point out that this area is being built up very quickly, so we will have extra households creating extra rubbish, increasing the risk of rats and infection. Most areas may have the advantage of a recycling collection and put out such items only to have them ignored.

Why not carry out a more realistic survey in Ely or Soham, since we do not have Grunty Fen two minutes down the road.
