I AM most amused by Anne Scuse and her views on breastfeeding in public. My baby was breastfed in probably every cafe and restaurant in Ely, often in large groups of breastfeeding mums and babies. I was am not going to be shamed in just doing this at home, as I find it of a much higher importance that baby was happy and well fed on the best food possible.

I have found Ely to be an empowering place for breastfeeding and this is reflected in the high rates of mums about town doing just this. Breast feeding can be very discreet and most people around probably wouldn't even notice it going on. This is the ideal atmosphere to promote and normalise breast feeding in today's bottle-feeding society, and I hope that new mums are not put off by the negative views of people such as Anne.
