WHILE agreeing that Ely parks and green spaces should not be used as toilet areas, I find the term 'layabout' used by Eddie Holden to describe homeless people offensive. Sadly, many of today's homeless people find themselves in this situation due to the current financial climate and recession. Many people can find themselves in a difficult situation very quickly after losing a job and if they don't have families to help them they can easily find themselves on a downward slope.

Remember the saying Eddie 'there by the Grace of God go I'.

Perhaps if Eddie was to spend a few nights on the 'soup run' with the Salvation Army then he might show a bit more sympathy for the homeless?
