I AM pleased to see your recent article regarding Roswell Pit and I hope that more will be forthcoming as there is a great deal to tell at this very opportune time with the Country Park .

Having completed extensive ecological, topographical, hydrological and geotechnical surveys we have a detailed knowledge of what is and is not at Roswell and the overall condition of the Pit

Indeed, I am confident that we have the most up-to-date and comprehensive data of anyone.

We look forward to sharing that information with the public in a factual rather than suppositional manner .We will be very willing to provide more material for publication if that is what is wanted.

One point that we feel does require clarification is that of the SSSI designation. We are not against SSSI status; however our work shows that the Pit at present does not qualify as a SSSI, although it could be made to. Our objection is based on Natural England stopping us improving the pit to SSSI standard in its own right.
