LETTER: 'Maybe, if it doesn't cost too much, the council could communicate with the probation service and have the town's streets kept clean by offenders on community service'

To echo recent comments made by Mr. Griggs in his column, I applaud the decision of the powers that be in stopping the street-sweeping service in Soham.
Without them, I would never have had to dodge the same pile of broken glass, covering the pavement, on my morning run for the last six months.
I am whole-heartedly surprised that the health and safety do-gooders haven’t intervened as many school children use this path on their way to and from the primary school and the Village College.
Maybe, if it doesn’t cost too much, the council could communicate with the probation service and have the town’s streets kept clean by offenders on community service.
