I AM writing regarding the derailment of the train at Ely that you featured on your front page last week. I was interested to read about the likely 14-18 week closure of the river during the height of the boating season whilst a road is built.

Why not call upon the Army Royal Engineers with their heavy lift helicopters (Chinooks?) to remove the rail trucks? If they do not have the resources, surely the US Air Force could assist?
